The burden of originality is one that most people don’t want to accept. They’d rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they’re supposed to like, what they’re supposed to buy, and what they’re supposed to laugh at.
Thinking back to the days of my Psych 100 classes at The Ohio State University, I recall the “Nature versus nurture” debate we engaged in. To this day, I don’t think any of us will ever know the true answer to that question. The important thing is what we do with the life we’ve been given, while thanking the Creator we aren’t some filthy little child in a 3rd world country, damned to hell because they’ve never been told who Jesus was because some spoiled American wasn’t doing their duty in tithing and sending some directionless missionary overseas after they felt the ‘call’ at a fundamentalist religious camp and felt the ministry was more noble than pursuit of a real career…

This is my blog. This is my website. I built both with knowledge and skills I learned when responding to a financial vacuum that demanded I learn new ways to make money. Website design has treated me very well. And I am thankful for the opportunities it has provided me with. Yet, life seems to be creating new vacuums more complex than simple financial burdens and obligations. I feel the urge and longing to do something spectacular, unique, and remarkable with the breaths I’ve been given. Ordinary is simply not an option.
