Sipping Raw
The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses – behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights. Read more: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/fight.html#ixzz1nsFU8ABv
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]here is no tomorrow. “I live like there’s no tomorrow” is usually the excuse to party hard enough to forget tomorrow could ever happen. Realizing the outcome of today dramatically impacts the resulting tomorrow is another way to look at it. Growth and discipline are elements that cannot be shirked or put to rest. I’ve never enjoyed hearing the words “you work too hard” because I’ve never heard them coming from somebody I respect. If Sir Richard Branson, Nithin Johnson, or Nate P. ever tells me this, I will listen.

Earlier this year, I experienced a great deal of angst because I felt as if I was shirking my potential for success. Business was not going well, I felt lazy and unproductive, and I decided it was best to begin the job hunt process. Looking back, I’m realizing the feeling of accomplishment and self-worth could never be fulfilled by a job, but by kicking into gear and intentionally running on all cylinders. The fight was worth it, and I’ve experienced more sleepless nights than I have in quite some time. However, the feeling of accomplishment and self-started success is worth more than money can say.

The same mentality that encourages lethargy and shirking of potential within the religious arena; the faithful believing this life is only a temporary shred of pain before they obtain eternal glory, thus making it more productive to spend time in prayer and supplication rather than working, is exactly what’s spurned the desire for more. Life is short. The future afterlife is completely unknown. And while we are here, there’s no reason not to dominate life.

The fact that we have no assurance of the afterlife is another blog I’ll be writing more on later…
